Stephanie Cuvelier is the Calibrate Studios founder and personal trainer. Specialising in mobility and exercise rehabilitation, she focuses on smaller, individual movements to link them with compound work to educate individuals about how their bodies are designed. She is also a Nike Training Club trainer, an HSBC wellness ambassador, and a former HK rugby player.

To Cuvelier, wellness means “seeking balance across [her] life, both in [her] outer and inner worlds.” Wellness lies in routine and her daily habits, including her morning meditation and journaling, exercise and quality nutrition to fuel her body. Although she has found what works for her, she believes that creating your own wellness routine to suit your needs and your priorities is super important. “Wellness is never a one-size fits all approach, as much as people may try to argue that.”

Denise Tam

As a spiritual practitioner and “part-time witch,” Denise Tam founded Heavens Please, Hong Kong’s premier CBD platform with the purpose of destigmatising CBD and raising awareness for the benefits of cannabidiol. Any Hong Konger could vouch for the frantic lifestyle and crazy work-life balance in Hong Kong, and Tam recognises this as a cry for an all-in-one product that reduces inflammation, pain and stress.

As an advocate of holistic wellness, Tam believes that health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. She understands the importance of connecting with our inner selves, our inner femininity, and empowering ourselves through different tools and methods. Incorporating plants into our wellness routine benefits us mentally and physically, she believes, as CBD and other beneficial plants can create a powerful synergy to help us regulate and adapt to stress.

Her children and people who keep her accountable also motivate her to live her best life as an example so they can follow it as well!

As a strong believer of mindfulness, she is also a breath work instructor and the co-founder of MDFL MVMT, a platform promoting mindfulness practices in Hong Kong.

Wellness to Leung is “to feel amazing and good. It is to connect with your own self physically and mentally. It is a lifestyle and a philosophy of life.” To achieve this feeling, she brings awareness to her daily life. By closing her eyes, observing her breathing for a few minutes every day, andchecking how she feels, she connects with herself and takes one step closer to wellness.

Hong Kong-raised Candice Chan co-founded LifeHub, a wellness centre located in the heart of Central, with the intention of changing how people access healthcare and take care of themselves. LifeHub is equipped with a team of doctors, physicians and coaches familiar with wellness knowledge and techniques backed by science. Whether one is feeling tired, stressed, toxic, run down or burnt out, Chan’s general wellness approach to healing can tackle these issues.

“Wellness is all about balance and doing things that make your body and mind feel good. Either it could be a short walk around your block or going on a wellness retreat,” explained Chan. For her, she pays attention to her body to see what she needs most during different times. Sometimes, that means cooking herself a clean meal. Other times, that means taking a warm bath with candles to rejuvenate.
