Nothing accentuates an outfit more than a piece of statement jewellery. Whether you are in an all-black jumpsuit or a simple white blouse, accessories embellished with pearls, feather, gem stones and playful motifs can instantly elevate your look.

In a world where supporting small and culturally diverse labels is more important than ever, we turn to Zarè, a Latin American concept store founded by Hong Kong-based Venezuelan Angela Bianchi, for stunning accessories by burgeoning Latin American designers.

Whether you’re into minimalist designs or oversized shapes, Zarè brings in a diverse selection of earrings, necklaces, rings, clutches and clothing in all colours, shapes and sizes to suit every taste.

Prior to the opening of Zarè’s first flagship store, we ask Bianchi for tips on starting a business and about her proudest moment as an entrepreneur.

What advice would you give to anyone who’s looking to start their own business?

- No excuses, find a solution for whatever holds you back rather than letting it stop you.

- Start small, aim big. Keep it simple.

- Balance passion with wisdom. Passion is a must to build your business, but don’t let passion take over all your decisions. Passion will move you forward, but knowledge will take you right where you dream to be.

- Keep in mind that you might have to go without comforts that you are used to, imagine yourself with no money. You will have to invest a lot.

Tell us about your proudest moments as an entrepreneur?

Seeing my brand grow, opening my own permanent shop (on Peel street).

What defines a modern woman in 2021 to you?

A woman that takes many challenges. She is trailblazing, resilient, fierce, confident, and ambitious.

What are some of the brands you'd love to work with one day? Why?

When thinking of a big brand, it would be Cartier.

It started when I went to the “Cartier, Crystallisation of Time” exhibition in Tokyo in 2019. I was mesmerised by the inspiration behind each piece created in different eras and the jewellers who handcrafted the pieces, it was just incredible.

When thinking of small brands, I would love to work with each one of the brands Zarè carries. The more I talk to the designers, the tighter our connections become and that’s what keeps me going. One day, I would love to spend time in their workshops, get to know all of their artisans, see their sketches, and more. That would be just AMAZING!
